PlayStation 3 / 3 slim: How do I connect my to my wireless network?

Here we describe how you can wirelessly connect a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 3 slim to your Sitecom router. If you don’t succeed, please consult your PlayStation 3 documentation or contact the Sony helpdesk.

1. From your PlayStation 3 menu, select Settings.

2. Then select Network Settings.

3. Under Network Settings, select Internet Connection Settings (by pressing the X button).

4. A message about the network cable now appears. Answer yes to this message by clicking on Enter (using the X button).

5. Then select Easy and press the play button. The basic settings required for the connection are then automatically modified for you.

6. Next, select Wireless and press the play button.

7. You can then adjust or set the wireless connection settings. Create a wireless connection in one of the following ways:

    a) With Scan, the PlayStation 3 identifies all the networks in the surrounding area. Select your Sitecom network.

    b) With Enter Manually, you can enter the network name of your Sitecom router yourself. Manually enter your Sitecom network.

    c) Via Automatic, you can allow the PlayStation 3 to make the connection itself. If you choose this function, follow the instructions that are displayed.

To establish a connection with your Sitecom router, you always need your router’s network name (SSID or SSID1) and WPA2 password. These are shown on the bottom of the router and in the Network Login Details flyer that may have been supplied with it.

NB: if you have changed the name of your network and/or your password, you must use these modified details to establish a connection with your PlayStation.

8. Once you have entered everything, a list of your settings will appear. If this does not happen, please consult your PlayStation 3 documentation in order to change the modified settings. You may then also need to modify the details of your Internet provider on the PlayStation 3.

9. If the list does appear and the settings have been entered correctly, you can test whether you have an Internet connection by opening the browser on your PlayStation 3.

Done! You have connected your PlayStation 3 to your wireless network.
